Zions’ smiles round technology is where engineering meets good times. We carefully select our materials to give you the best possible ride for whatever kind of riding your into.
Phase 4 Core

Our lightest and most advanced core. The Phase 4 core is made from Paulownia wood, Poplar wood and has built in Carbon Fibre Stabilizer Bars. Paulownia is very light weight yet able to take impact and Poplar has excellent bonding characteristics and offers a nice even flex. The Carbon Stabilizer Bars offer added stability and responsiveness when riding at high speeds. There are Horizontal Response Zones under each binding made up +/- 45 degree end grain wood that help transfer energy from your feet directly to the sidewalls of your board. These Response Zones also help absorb binding impact.

Phase 3 Core

The Phase 3 Core is made using Paulownia Wood, Poplar Wood and Bamboo The mix of these three materials makes for a very lightweight core that has excellent impact resistance. Paulonia Wood is very light weight yet strong enough to be able to take impact. Poplar has excellent bonding characteristics and offers a nice even flex. Bamboo is added into the mix to add extra snap and liveliness as well as extra impact resistance.

Phase 2 Core

The Phase two core is made using Poplar Wood and Bamboo Poplar has excellent bonding characteristics and offers a nice even flex. Bamboo is added into the mix to add extra snap and liveliness as well as extra impact resistance.

Phase 1 Core

The Phase 1 core uses Poplar Wood which gives your board a super strong core that has excellent bond strength and a nice even flex.

Carbon Energy Bars

There are 1 inch strips of carbon placed below the core that go from under your binding area – out to the ends of your board. This give your board a lot of extrapop from the bindings out, but keeps the middle nice and soft for all your pressing needs.

Carbon Energy V Bars

There are strips of Carbon placed under the core from the binding area out toward the hips of the nose and tail. This gives your board a lot of extra pop and extra response in turning as it transfers energy from your feet to the hips of the snowboard when you turn.


V Neck

All of our snowboards are engineered to be thinner between the inserts packs, which results in a natural – easy riding flex pattern.We have three degrees of V Neck in our boards:

Deep V

The Deep V is featured on the WONK and WHOA MAN! Series and is designed to give the board a buttery and forgiving flex for jibbing and park riding.

Regular V

The Regular V is featured on the LOST Series and is designed to keep the board smooth and forgiving for park riding while maintaining a responsive feel for big jumps.

Shallow V

The Shallow V is featured on the Z1 Series and is designed to give you a natural feeling flex while keeping the board super responsive for all mountain freestyle riding.


Trinity Glass System

Our Trinity Glass System uses a Tri-Axial Fibre Glass that will give your board the best response possible. We use a 37 Degree weave that allows your board to be super responsive lengthwise while maintaining torsional forgiveness. This makes your board really responsive but still easy to ride.

Trinity / Basalt Hybrid Glass System

Our Trinity / Basalt Hybrid Glass System is featured on the LOST Series – our high end park series. We use our Trinity Glass System on the top of the board and our Basalt Glass System on the bottom of the board. The Top Glass uses a 37 Degree weave that allows your board to be super responsive lengthwise while maintaining torsional forgiveness. The Basalt Glass System on the Bottom of the board offers a 30% increase in impact resistance and will not break down as easily. This glass is placed on the bottom of the board to add a lot of extra strength for hitting all the biggest park features.

Hd22 Glass System

HD Stands for heavy duty. We use a heavy duty yet light weight and responsive 22 ounce glass to hold up to all the park and street beatings that you will be giving your board.


S Base

Our toughest, highest grade sintered base that has the best wax absorption and abrasion resistance.

S+ Base

Sintered base that offers excellent wax absorption and abrasion resistance.

X Base

Extruded base that is durable yet easy to repair when you get dings from street and park features.


UMHW Sidewalls

The sidewalls are made of the same material as our sintered bases. This keeps the sidewalls nice and strong for impact resistance, but soft enough to save your edges from cracking when hitting rails.

Reverse Camber w/ Multiradius Sidecut

All of our Reverse Camber boards feature a negative camber profile between the bindings and a very slight camber from the bindings out to the contact points on the tips. This is a hybrid RC system in which you get the easy riding feel of a RC board with the added edge hold of a regular cambered board. We also use a multi radius sidecut to improve edge hold.

Edges

We use a full-wrap Rockwell 48 steel edge on all our boards to give you the best all-around protection and ride. Each board ready to remove any beard and stick any icy landing, but remember: wear gloves!
